This is the first time I have ever done this. Its not just
because I'm angry, its because I'm genuinely looking out for all those other
people out there that HAVE or WILL be ripped off by this company. Peters Auto
Service on Washington Street in Roslindale is by far the WORST place I have ever
brought my car to get serviced. Its right down the street from where I live so
its convenient, but that's it. The first time I took my car there for a tune up
I made it VERY CLEAR that I wanted a phone call before ANY work was done on it.
I gave him my number and he AGREED to call me.
Two days went by and I heard nothing, so I called. He wasn't
there so I left message after message after message. FINALLY on the fifth day I
got a phone call saying my car is ready and it will be $660. WHAT???!!! When I
walked in he didn't have a receipt, no explanation of what he did. He wanted his
money and that was that. Frustrated I gave him the money and got into my car. It
was full of trash, oily rags and a lot less gas than when I dropped it off. I
was dead set on NEVER going back. Just recently my State Inspection expired and
I needed a new one.
A simple transaction. My car is in great shape except
for one of the lights on the dashboard blinks for no reason. Against my better
judgment I brought it back to Peters Auto Service. Again, it was close and I
thought it would be a quick painless procedure. When I dropped it off he made me
feel confident that there would be no issues. I told him AGAIN not to make ANY
repairs without calling me. He said he would call, just like last time. I should
have known better.
I call the garage four hours later and ask if the car
is ready. He said yes, it will be $140. WHAT???!!! Instead of arguing on the
phone I wanted to speak to him face to face. When I walked in I asked how much
was the bill. He then said $150. Proof this man is a liar. I told him that he
said $140 on the phone and he just looked confused and said, no
I said $150. AGAIN he had nothing written out. No
receipt, nothing.
I made it very clear to him that I would never be returning
and that its OBVIOUS he is ripping people off. A $40 Inspection sticker turned
into a $150 bill. I didn't want to argue so I gave him the money. He reached
into his pocket full of $50s and $100s and tucked my hard earned money into his
fold of stolen cash. I take my keys and go to my car. I pull out of the lot and
MY LIGHT STARTS BLINKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All he did was smear grease all over my car and slap a
sticker on it. DO NOT GO TO THIS GARAGE. Mechanics that work hard and stand
behind their work deserve our business, not these grease monkey thieves!!!
I grew up with an amazing mechanic for a Father. I've been
under the hood of a car since I was a child. I know when I'm getting lied too. I
might be a 29 year old female but I know my cars and I know when someone is
taking advantage of me. Please, I urge you to stay away from this disgraceful
excuse of a mechanic. If you take my advice I just saved you a lot of time,
money and grief.
