I went into Zolly Motors because my blinkers were not working. It cost me $124 (1 hour of labor) to have the wires re-soldered. When I called Wayne Rippy to ask when I could pick the car up, he surprised me with a list of “recommended” repairs in addition to the soldering. Wayne wanted to replace a high pressure steering hose (said it was leaking into the exhaust). He pressured me for my consent to begin the repair, but refused to estimate the cost. When I picked up the car, not only did he recommend the hose replacement (which would have surprised me at $423 had I consented over the phone), but he also had a long list of additional recommendations. The list added up to over $2,000 and included such gems as $186 in labor to run a system check because my airbag light was on, or $70 to “install injector cleaner in fuel system” (not including the $124 for another hour of labor). Last time I checked I could “install” my own fuel injector cleaner by dumping a $7 bottle into the gas tank. The list also included a standard lube/oil change even though the sticker on my windshield said I had 2000 miles to go.
This group is disrespectful and near fraudulent. In the end… they didn’t even repair the broken blinker lens, which probably caused the blinkers to stop working in the first place.
